Behind every great fashion shows is a great concept that embodies it all, for Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2016 show, Nicholas Ghesquière decided it be a globe-trotting concept. This time the fashion show is housed in Bop Hope's Palm Springs home with the magnificent desert backdrop, don’t forget this is a globe-trotting concept, so it is best to venture the prints. From vivid, high-impact tribal designs, stained glass dresses, paisley, to chain patterns. The exciting range of prints were translated into dreamy maxi dresses, or a floor-grazing gown in crimson leather with a ruffled neckline and LV monogram cutouts that zipped all the way down. "Something long and with fluidity, this was very important for me to express this season," he explained. "A different attitude, effortless and cool, and with flat shoes and long skirts and a certain lightness of the fabrics." On a happier note, long gone were the hype on culottes, hot pant is the new it-item! And to make it even better, Ghesquière added texture to the next level, from Glossy, snakeskin-like embroideries, perforated lambskin, dense, color-blocked sequins to studded details. Pay closer attention and you’ll see hiking boots and layers of monogrammed pendants complimenting the whole look.
