The labels latest runway show titled “ THE VOYAGE” presented well-executed modern versions of Indonesia’s Batik. Modernizing a traditional garment and doing it well is quite the difficult feat, however Alleria Batik has succeeded. With each new collection Alleria Batik presents they move one step closer to achieving their goal of making Batik making batik Each piece presented on the runway can be worn in both formal and casual settings. The unique tones, colors and patterns of the collection are perfect for any man looking to add a bit of fashionable flavor to his wardrobe. Feby Haniv, a designer who continues to defy expectations and shine with each runway show she presents. Pour Homme is a collection that exudes style. At time where men are becoming more and more bold with their fashion choices seeking out collections such as Pour Homme. Feby Haniv pushes the boundaries with her bold colours and patterns whilst giving her pieces a masculine touch that creates an overall tough yet sweet look. It is rare to find a menswear collection that gives the wearer a confident yet colourful look. This confidence in menswear is something that is much needed within the fashion industry. As some designers tend to shy away from creating menswear collections it is evident that Feby knows herself as a designer and knows the market she is designing for. As her pieces glided down the runway the excitement of every fashion forward male within the audience was apparent. The bright red jackets and dark blue suites are pieces that have been seen before but not with Feby’s touch. Feby’s take on classic men’s cuts and styles brings a whole new meaning to the term menswear. The runway concept for this show was on point. Feby’s runway shows never disappoint. The music, models, and clothes are proof of her ability to create perfect cohesion.

They say that youth are the future, the future driving force for success and economic growth in the years to come. In Indonesia the youth of the fashion industry are a force to be reckoned with. Coming from such a culturally diverse and artistically rich nation the designers of ESMOD Jakarta have taken full advantage of all the Indonesia has to offer artistically. It is rare to see designers who are still pursuing their dreams to create such magic. At Plaza Indonesia Men's Fashion Week 2016 ESMOD presented wonderfully fashion forward collections that would knock the socks of any of their counterparts abroad. The sheer talent of the designers was amazing. As each piece came down the runway it was evident that these students followed trends and knew how to incorporate themselves into each piece. From jackets and jumpers to shorts and skirts and each ESMOND designer was fashion forward and could easily be seen as pieces from more seasoned designers. Seeing how far ESMOD’s students have come is proof that Indonesia has one of the strongest fashion industries in South East Asia. Each designer from ESMOD has great talent that will only shine brighter the further they go in their carriers.

Iwan Tirta’s private collection runway showing was definitely a treat for the eyes and a perfect way to end the night. Before the show began Iwan’s incense ritual filled the venue with a beautiful scent that would set the mood for his mystical runway show. The ambience of the room was fresh and light. As Iwan Tirta’s dapper clothes came down the runway the crowd roared and laughed with excitement seeing some of their favorite faces as well as models strut their stuff. Iwan Tirta’s Private Collection presented pieces that are fit for any formal occasion. They continue to redefine the men’s batik making it more fashion forward and appealing to the younger generation as well as international community. the brand continues to lead the way connecting batik to the international fashion community as well as keep its place as a legend within local industry. Iwan Tirta Private Collection is truly a special brand that is celebrated and respected by those who wear the clothes and the guests who attend the shows. The reception of this latest collection shown at Plaza Indonesia Mens Fashion Week 2016 is evidence to how much of a legend Iwan Tirta is.
