THE STARVING ARTISTS
November 3-30
Acclaimed photographer Indra Leonardi, known for his evocative portraits, will feature 27 selected figures from Jakarta’s Food & Beverages scene in “The Culinary Artists – From Plate to Palate” photo exhibition starting November 3 until the end of the month.
Among the notable names are emerging figures in the F&B sphere such as the young Pastry Chef Talita Setyadi of BEAU and celebrated chef Fernando Sindu of SevenFriday Space and Benedict. Also on the list is Jason Leo, owner and barista of Ombé Kofie and the mind behind its meteoric rise to success. “The Culinary Artists – From Plate to Palate” Photo Exhibit will be displayed in front of La Moda on 3-30 November 2016 .
Weekend Brunch with Guest Chefs x LAMODA
There is no better reason to get out of bed on weekends than the chance to feast on an extensive brunch menu created by some of the best chefs in the industry. Every weekend in November, top-drawer chefs such as Gloria Susindra of ST. ALi Jakarta, Simon Tailpied of Cork & Screw and celebrity chef Arimbi Nimpuno, will dish up hearty meals that will surely cure your morning hunger.
From November 4 to 6, Chef Revo and Chef Avanda will join forces and create a set of sharing menu suitable for couples or group diners. Bring a friend or two to try their Shared Main Plate – if you’re more of a seafood type of person, the Seafood Platter is laden with grilled prawn and charred octopus, drizzled with local-based pesto. Fancy poultry more? Try the Chicken Platter, a plate of roasted chicken with jus gras and spring vegetable stew.
On the third weekend, Chef Gloria, Chef Primo and Chef Gupta band together to kick up the classic brunch staples a notch (think eggs benedict with tempura soft shell crab and sambal matah hollandaise). Be sure to try their traditionally inspired desserts such as the offbeat Nasi Uduk Parfait and the Kopi Joss Affogato (activated charcoal milk, topped with coffee ice cream and honey tuile).
And finally, the last weekend of the month will see a collaboration between Chef Kevindra and Chef Igo with their colorful brunch menu selection that takes its cue from Indonesia’s traditional dishes. Expect favourite Indonesian dishes such as Ayam Tuturuga (a traditional dish from North Sulawesi), Sate Maranggi served with Crispy Rice Cake & Green Chili Pickles (from Purwakarta and Cianjur), as well as desserts such as Es Secang Sorbet (Jogjakarta and Surakarta) and Pandan Sari Tabanan Bali – these delightful dishes will definitely take you on a culinary journey across Indonesia.
